Lisa Schwartz, M.A., LMFT
Lisa’s empathic people skills and longtime involvement with student enrichment and at-risk youth make her a sought-after family coach relating to educational decisions.
Lisa graduated with honors from Wheaton College, Massachusetts, with a B.A. in Sociology and received a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University. She understands the various challenges facing families today and helps parents and children work through educational and emotional issues to create an effective team for educational planning. Lisa approaches her work from a family systems model and is solution-focused. As a licensed professional, she is experienced in empowering teens and young adults who are facing life transitions to employ valuable tools for growth and change.
From 2004-2010, Lisa was Director of Operations for Camille M. Bertram Educational Consultants (the predecessor firm to The Bertram Group), working with families looking for educational direction. She also volunteered at Silver Hill Hospital in the Eating Disorder program from 2012-2014 working with adolescents in group therapy, concentrating on body image via creative expression and art therapy.
Recently Lisa has attended the following workshops: Family Therapy with Troubled Adolescents; Trauma throughout the Lifespan; Treating Anxiety; Tools for Helping Children and Teens Tackle their Worries; Sharing Solutions that Foster Healthy Girls.
