Holly Daniels, PhD, LMFT.
Holly has worked as a clinician and a mindfulness teacher with adolescents, young adults, and their families for almost fifteen years. In the past decade, she has collaborated with residential and outpatient treatment centers, serving as therapist, clinical director, and executive director at various programs specializing in eating disorders, addictions, and other mental health issues. As a therapeutic educational consultant, Holly combines her deep clinical understanding of the different struggles that emerging adults can face with an extensive knowledge of residential and transitional treatment programs as well as support centers on university and college campuses.
As the mother of two teenagers, Holly feels honored to get a first-hand daily glimpse into the zeitgeist of Generation Z. Holly speaks regularly to parents at local schools and to professionals across the country about the warning signs of mental health issues in young people and how to best support balance and wellness in children. She has been interviewed by Time, US News and World Report, Bustle and other international publications regarding relationship issues, parenting support, and strategies to stay in recovery after treatment.
Holly is an elected board member for the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), supporting over 32,000 clinicians. She is also a member of the International Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the International Association for EMDR Trauma Therapists (EMDRIA). Holly received her PhD in Psychology from Sofia University, her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, and her Bachelor’s in Education at Pennsylvania State University. She is excited to bring her many years of education and experience together to form her therapeutic educational consulting firm, Connected Directions LLC.
Before moving into the world of psychology, Holly was a Screen Actors Guild vested actress for many years, appearing in Castle, Nip Tuck, House, Crazy Stupid Love and several national commercial campaigns. In addition to her work as a therapeutic consultant, she continues to work in the entertainment industry by providing psycho-education and teaching meditation to professional entertainers and creative executives in Los Angeles.
