Negotiating the College Process for Kids with LD and ADHD
Should you disclose a learning disability on your college application? What kind of accommodations can students expect in college classes? In the last decade, resources have greatly expanded for helping students with learning disabilities thrive in college. Educational consultant Deena Maerowitz discusses how to find a college that meets your needs—keeping considerations about learning disabilities in balance with the big picture of your strengths and interests. She will also share strategies families can use to communicate with colleges about learning disabilities and identify the support networks a student may need.
Deena Maerowitz, J.D., M.S.W., is a partner with The Bertram Group, which for more than 20 years has been helping families find schools and colleges where students can achieve their maximum potential. Deena specializes in advising college candidates throughout the admissions process for undergraduate and graduate education.
