TBG’s Gold Star Standard

The Bertram Group provides a gold star standard of educational advising to families seeking opportunities for students from elementary school through graduate school. We serve a broad range of learners from across the globe, striving to identify the “best fit” for each individual candidate.

  • Respect commitments and act with honor and reliability in all interactions with fellow TBG consultants, families, and allied professionals.

  • Represent both students and educational opportunities fairly and accurately.

  • Communicate clearly about the nature and scope of services that TBG provides—never making promises beyond the group's expertise.

  • Are sensitive to clients’ perspectives and work collaboratively with parents towards the best interests of their child.

  • Implement the firm's work with warmth and compassion within appropriate professional boundaries.

  • Maintain an active membership in IECA and act within the ethics stated in their Principles of Good Practice.

  • Serve all clients equally—valuing and respecting each individual’s needs.

  • Communicate clearly, consistently, and thoughtfully with each other and the outside world.

  • Respectfully acknowledge all gracious overtures to strengthen relationships on behalf of the firm.

  • Recognize that the work is highly detail-oriented and the need to track, balance, and follow through on the many action steps needed in a timely fashion.

  • Are accurate and careful with data, respecting the confidentiality of the client/consultant relationship.

Professionalism

TBG Consultants:

  • Regularly visit schools, programs, and colleges to expand knowledge of educational opportunities.

  • Attend conferences, workshops, and webinars to keep abreast of the latest trends, developments and research in educational consulting.

  • Stay current with social media and school/program/college correspondence.

  • Practice within the bounds of individual abilities and experience and offer insight to the group as a whole.

  • Reach out to other firm members, maximizing the strength of the combined experience of the group.
